TurboCaser®

Patented Technologies
TurboCaser®
Turbine-Powered Reamer Shoe System
This turbine-powered reamer shoe system lands casing and intermediate liners at target depth without rotating the string. High-speed reaming at the shoe clears the way and the drill-out requires no dedicated trip.
No Casing Rotation
High-speed reaming without rotating the casing string, with a low start-up flow rate. Simply circulate fluid to spin the reamer shoe, keeping connections stress-free.
Bypass Tight Spots
Get your casing past tight spots with ease. The reamer shoe works through cutting beds, ledges, and restrictions, while the mud flow carries debris and cuttings back up the hole.
Land and Drill
Land at Target Depth, then quickly drill ahead.

Introduction

The TurboCaser® is a pass-through, turbine-powered reaming system that enables casings and intermediate liners to land at target depth.

Its turbine drives high-speed rotation of the reamer shoe independent of the casing string, no string rotation required, reaming through tight hole, ledges, and cutting beds on the way to TD, with the casing cemented conventionally once landed.

The drillable turbine is designed for rapid drill-out, typically 20-25 minutes, with no dedicated drill-out trip, allowing the same BHA to drill through and drill ahead in one operation.

No String Rotation Required

The turbine powers the reamer shoe directly, keeping the casing string static while reaming to depth.

Drilled Out in Minutes

Rapid drill-out, typically 20-25 minutes, with full bore pass-through. The same standard BHA drills through and drills ahead in one operation.

Case Trouble Zones Quickly

Reduces or eliminates wiper trips in unstable formations, tight hole, and wells where casing has previously failed to reach TD.

How It Works

Reaming Power at the Shoe

When casing meets tight hole, ledges, or cutting beds, the conventional answer is wiper trips, reciprocation, or pulling out entirely. This adds rig time, well construction risk, and HSE exposure with every attempt.

The TurboCaser® puts reaming power where it's needed: at the shoe. Its turbine converts circulation into high-speed rotation of the reamer shoe, independent of the casing string, working the casing through trouble zones to target depth. Once landed, the casing is cemented conventionally.

The drill bit then passes straight through the drillable turbine, typically in 30 minutes, and continues drilling ahead with the same standard BHA, with no dedicated drill-out trip required.
