Desander

Desander

Sand & Gas Mitigation Tool

Introduction

The Desander is a multiphase separator that removes sand and gas from produced fluids before they reach the pump, extending pump life in rod pump applications.

Designed for the harsh conditions of the downhole environment, it uses field-proven separation methods: centrifugal force acting on a dual-spiral design separates particles and free gas, while a 30' stainless steel diptube allows gravity separation as fluid travels through the tool.

All-steel construction, standard API connections, and a multi-configuration bottom sub make it adaptable across downhole pump applications, from traditional sucker rod to ESP, backed by 24/7 production and completion engineering support.

How It Works

Separation Before the Pump

Sand and free gas in produced fluids are the leading causes of premature pump failure, solids erode and abrade internal components, while gas interferes with pump efficiency.

The desander intercepts fluid before it reaches the pump. Centrifugal force acting on the primary spiral drives sand and solids out of the flow, a secondary spiral assists gas breakout, and the 30' diptube gives remaining free gas the distance it needs to gravity separate as fluid travels through the tool.

The result is cleaner fluid at the pump intake. This reduces the chances of premature pump failure and extends run life.
