ClearPath™ Stabilizer

Patented Technologies
ClearPath™ Stabilizer
4x Velocity Increase
Achieve up to a 4x increase in velocity across the tool. A flow profile developed through CFD modeling keeps cuttings moving past the tool and the hole clean, resulting in less balling and pack-off.
Mitigate Vibration
Mitigate vibration with a proven reduction in lateral, axial, and torsional forces. Six to eight points of contact, fore and aft, centralize the BHA with 360° wellbore contact.
Dome-Shaped Blades
Low-friction, dome-shaped blades replace sharp spiral edges. This optimized design means less stick-slip, lower torque and drag, and a steadier tool face when sliding.
ClearPath™ System
A direct replacement with no change needed to your BHA design. It is available as a full ClearPath™ System, featuring RSS, motor, MWD, and LWD sleeves.

Introduction

The ClearPath™ Stabilizer is a next-generation stabilizing tool engineered to overcome the shortcomings of conventional spiral blade stabilizers.

Its dome-shaped, low-friction blades centralize the BHA through six or eight points of contact, reducing torque, drag, and torsional vibration while improving weight transfer during slide drilling.

A direct replacement requiring no changes to BHA design, it delivers improved drilling efficiency across vertical and deviated applications and is available as a full ClearPath™ System to transform the entire BHA string.

Improved Slide Drilling

Better weight transfer and more consistent tool face control when slide drilling in vertical and deviated wells.

Balling and Pack-Off Mitigation

The hydrodynamic flow profile enhances hole cleaning, reducing clay balling and cuttings accumulation around the BHA to minimize the risk of pack-off.

A Full System Option

Configurable sleeves for RSS, motor, MWD and LWD tools extend the ClearPath™ design across the entire BHA string.

How it Works

Stability Without the Friction

Conventional spiral blade stabilizers create high contact friction against the wellbore, adding torque and drag, restricting weight transfer during slides, and giving reactive formations somewhere to ball up and pack off.

The ClearPath™ Stabilizer takes a different approach: dome-shaped, low-friction blades make contact at six or eight discrete points, while a flow profile developed through computational fluid dynamic modelling keeps cuttings moving past the tool and the hole clean.

The result is a smoother-running BHA with less torsional vibration, steadier toolface control while sliding, and lower swab and surge pressures on every trip.
